Set Default CC to General Practitioner on Exam Letters
Configure Visual-Eyes to automatically populate the patient's General Practitioner (GP) on examination letters, streamlining communication with referring doctors.
Prerequisites
Access to ExamAdmin (typically available to practice owners, managers, or designated key staff)
General Practitioners must be added to the GP list in Visual-Eyes Admin
Patient records must have a GP selected from the dropdown list (not free-typed)
Open ExamAdmin.
Navigate to Opto Settings / Defaults.
Check the box next to Default CC to GP.
Click OK.
Click Save Exam DB.
Restart Visual-Eyes for the change to take effect.
Verify the Setting
To confirm the default is working correctly:
Open a patient record that has a GP selected in their demographics.
Navigate to the patient's exam.
Click Print.
Open the Letters tab.
Verify the patient's GP appears in the CC section.
Common Issues
GP does not appear in CC field
Verify that the GP is selected from the dropdown list on the patient's demographics screen. If the GP name was manually typed (free-typed) instead of selected from the list, it will not populate correctly. Select the GP from the dropdown list and try again.
GP not available in dropdown list
The GP must first be added to Visual-Eyes Admin before it can be selected. See the related article below for instructions.
