Updating Lens Markup and Recalculating Base Prices

This article provides step-by-step instructions for updating lens markup values and recalculating base prices in Visual-Eyes. Administrators can use these steps to ensure that supplier pricing updates are accurately reflected in the system.

Prerequisites

  • Manager’s permission for VE Admin access.

Updating Lens Markup

  1. Navigate to VE Admin > Manager > Rx/CL > Lens Markup.
  2. In the left column, select the desired markup to edit.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. To adjust the percentage multiplier, update the Multiple By field.
  5. To add a fixed dollar amount, use the Then Add field.
  6. When finished, click Save.
  7. Click Exit.

  8. Click Publish All.

Recalculating Base Prices

  1. Navigate to VE Admin > Main > Rx/CL > Lens Selection.

  2. Select the relevant Supplier for the markup.
  3. Set the Style and Material filters to narrow down the list, or select All for both to view the entire lens catalogue.
  4. Double-check the Defaults set at the top of the screen to ensure they match the selected lenses.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Click Update and Calculate Base Price to apply the new markup.
    • The Base Price column will update to reflect the changes.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Exit.

  9. Click Publish All.

Finalizing the Update

  1. Close Visual-Eyes completely.
  2. Reopen Visual-Eyes to apply the updated lens pricing throughout the system.
    Tips
    When setting the price range for the Markup do not set the start price to $0. This may cause an issue on the Rx Order screen if the Lens gets discounted or part of a promo price. Please use $0.01 as the start.
